My creative journey began with photographing bands such as Talking Heads and The Clash for the fanzine Deviation Street before taking up art. Initially self taught, I went on to study Graphic Design and Art Therapy, followed by Fine Art and finally Visual Culture.
I am interested in the notion of what it is to be an "Outsider" curating and co-curating exhibitions of artists working across the creative spectrum, placing the work of established artists alongside those who are self taught or have additional needs as well as other creative individuals who, for one reason or another, operate in or around the margins of the established art world.
My own practice embraces the disciplines and traditions of both photography and fine art. I continue to enjoy developing my own work and welcome interest from individuals and organisations who wish to discuss projects and commissions.
I have substantial experience of creating and running workshops for both adults and children with over 10 years experience of developing activities for adults with additional needs .
There’s a quality in his work that isn't easily achieved, Brian is quietly developing new ground as an artist and facilitator.
